What a trip!

We had a great time and I was super impressed with Dublin and our entire experience in the country! ?I think it?s definitely a country I would add to my ?could live there someday? list.

Here are ?some of the details of our trip, sprinkled with some pictures for your viewing pleasure! ?I?m breaking this trip up into two posts- this one will feature where to stay, where to eat and where to drink. ?The next one (probably Thursday) will feature where to shop and what to do?

Where to stay: The Westin Dublin

Note: This was a pricier option, but it is so conveniently located, what we spent on the room, we definitely saved on taxis, buses and other transportation. ?The rooms were beautiful, the service was top-notch and the on-site restaurants were a great option for breakfast and a lazy dinner. ?One other note, for my preservation friends, this is an old Bank of Ireland building, and the restaurant downstairs was the old bank vaults?

Where to eat:

Bewleys- great for breakfast when you?ve just landed, are half awake and need a really good coffee and simple food to get you going!

Carluccio?s Cafe- amazing Italian food, tucked on a side street away from Trinity College. ?Perfect for lunch- ask to sit upstairs and enjoy people watching from the huge windows overlooking the street! ?Also, grab a snack on your way out- you?ll enjoy it later.. trust me!

Salt- great weekend brunch, south of Dublin. ?Perfect for a little escape outside the city, in a cute little town on the water. ?Food was simple yet elegant, and the market had an impressive selection of items from around the world.

Breakfast and tea at Salt:

O?Donoghues- pub in central dublin, great meeting point for lunch (if you are shopping and the boys want to drink!), food is simple with classic Irish dishes. ?Also great for a Guinness in the evening?

Some pictures (the best Irish stew I?ve ever eaten? was it that good, or was I that hungry?!?!)

The Mint- this was the awesome bar in our hotel, perfect for a light bite in the early evening or cocktails later in the evening.

Fire- another awesome location, attached to an old mansion and a converted supper club. ?Great food, service was a little lacking, but oh well. ?If you go, you might try the early dining or theatre menu? we were in a bit of a tired haze and forgot to ask about it, but seemed like a great deal?

The Magpie Inn- great restaurant outside of Dublin. ?Large selection of craft beers, simple but awesome food. ?Excellent atmosphere and centered in a cute town to explore.

Kilkenny- this is a department store located throughout Ireland, but this location is across from Trinity College and has excellent shopping, but also excellent eating- as we discovered! ?Great for a cheap, Irish breakfast to start your morning. ?The food was great and the service was exceptional- a great value!

Where to drink:

Messrs Maguire- great craft beer bar on the river. ?Easy walking distance to central Dublin, nice atmosphere and large bar area.

Porterhouse Brewing Company- Long beer list, good food, gets crowded on the weekends (just in case you?re tired and pregnant?), but very relaxed atmosphere and large bar area.
