Santee Rec Department spring classes list just released
Even though the calendar says it?s still winter, registration for many summer camps has begun.
Parents and campers can choose from dozens of choices within driving distance, some tailoring to specific interests while others feature familiar activities like canoeing, horseback riding, hiking and camping out.

Details:?Between the Santee Aquatics Center and fitness facilities on site and the off site camps, there are a lot options to choose from. YMCA members get a discount on most camps. Summer Camp Sign Up Day is coming March 9, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.- get $10 off per camp week.

Type of camp: Horse riding and care, farm life, other activities. Overnight.

Location: University of San Diego
Type of camp: Golf instruction at a variety of courses. Overnight with a day camp option.
Cost: $1,445 overnight; $1,345 day camp.
When: Five five-day sessions in late June through July.

Details: Golfers of all abilities between ages 10 and 18 will be instructed by coaches Mike Wydra and Marc Chandonnet on several area courses. Campers will stay at residence halls on the USD campus in Mission Valley. Evening activities include barbecues, pizza night and a Padres game.

Name: Nick Hardwick & Vincent Brown Football Camp
Location: University of San Diego
Cost: $800 for overnight, $720 for day camp.
Type of camp: Hardwick, Brown and other Chargers players will host campers and teach techniques for every position.
When: July 18-21

Location: Canyonside Community Park, Rancho Penasquitos
Cost: $160-$1,230, transportation included
Type of camp: Day camp with a variety activities in the park and around San Diego. Campers can be picked up and dropped off at home.
When: June through August
